Hot Days in MN & A Trip To Honduras

The weather here in MN has been really quite mild this summer. Most grass has stayed green which often will go brown and dormant in the hottest days of summer, especially if there is any rationing for watering yards; so most yards look great! Everything seems to be picture perfect here.

Early in the summer, shortly after we arrived in MN my parents air conditioner broke. My mother was laughing at me thinking about how I was escaping the heat and humidity of Honduras only to come stay someplace with no AC and when it's not that uncommon for the weather to be just as unbearable as Honduras for weeks at a time here in MN.

I would hear people complaining of how hot it was and they would be blasting the AC, yet I was comfortable at the house with the windows open letting in fresh air and the fans moving the air around. To me, it's been perfect weather. Yet, (real) hot weather was bound to happen. This labor day weekend has proved to be a hot one and after a few days of high 80's the house is nice and warmed up and today, for the first time since arriving in MN on June 17th I am saying. "I'm HOT!" I'm moving around the house like a slug and not feeling like doing anything. Ha! I just find it so humorous that it took this long.

On another note concerning weather. I have BIG news. I'm going back to the heat and humidity! Yes, I'm going to Honduras!! I booked the flights last week and I'm scheduled to fly out on the 14th of Sept. I have a return date of Oct 12th so we will see if I make that return flight or not.

The sad part of this is that I'm leaving Sister with grandma and grandpa for the time being while Brother and me go back. Now that we've had nearly 3 months apart we've had time to step back and take a look at things. The hope is that Papa and I can work on some things and then I will send for Sister when things feel right to bring her back into the picture. Sister starts school tomorrow at a school just a few blocks from my parents. Gosh I am going to miss her! My heart is quite sick about it actually. I sent her to camp for a week this summer and I was counting the hours until she got home because I missed her.

Now I'm going through everything and trying to pick out what is a must bring back or what can I say goodbye to again for a while. This return trip I have to bring some things that I've accumulated for the baby, you know, just in case. Many things are making the donation bag too. It feels like it's time to start over with a lot of things and maybe clothes are a good place to start.

p.s. Delta has great fairs right now if anyone wants to travel to Honduras!

p.s.s. Here is how much I'm grown since I've arrived to MN. The first two pics were taken just after I arrived in MN and the last photo was taken this last Friday. I'm wearing the same top so I thought it would be fun to see the difference. My friend who is in the top photo had her baby boy last week! He is the cutest little peanut!

Mama Sprout, ENJOY your trip. Just take it as it comes and don't worry. I have a good feeling for you. And don't feel guilty...they make air conditioners for a very good reason in this humidity Use it and enjoy! I do. hehe

Hey Sprout. Talked to your mom yesterday and almost fell over when she told me you where in San Pedro. Penny, the girls and I were in Honduras for two weeks last February sailing the Bay Islands and then staying in Copan (I have a fascination with Mayan culture). Had we known, we would have tried to get together. Flew in and out of San Pedro Sula and relied on Hedman Alas to get around. What a fantastic trip and beautiful country! I look forward to reading your posts. Take care. Your north country cousin.
