Blackout In Honduras

Honduras had a nationwide blackout the other night. We had just got done with dinner, sister was over at her Spanish tutor's house and suddenly , blackness. From 6:30 - 9:30pm the lights went out all over Honduras. I asked my neighbor why the power went out a few days later. Turns out Honduras gets it's electricity from dams. Well, there was a problem and some repairs were needed. In order to fix the problem they had to shut everything off. Thanks for the notice, Honduras! I suppose if they had given notice it could have given too much time for the criminals to plan something.

We made it through playing cards by candlelight. Candles, by the way, I had bought for hurricane Felix. Glad I had them.

Yeah, apparently Felix damaged the Honduran power grid, and the electric company is rationing electricity while repairs are completed. I saw a timetable buried in a newspaper today, so I guess they are publishing the times for the blackouts so watch out!

Thanks, Aaron for the updates! It's hard for me to be in the know on what's going on sometimes here.
