I Am From - A poem by Sister Sprout

I am from

I am from beds side by side from antiques and dolls.

I am from the blue and white house near the creek and flowers.

I am from the flowers from grandpas garden and maple tree in the front
yard whose long gone as if they were my own

I’m from ester and blond hair from punpa and gama
i am from planting and embroidery and and from being busy all the time

i am from bible stories and family stories and Jesus loves me
I am from turkey every holiday
I am from Minnesota and chicken and Turkey
I am from my grandpa who is so nice to me and he make me feel safe

This poem was written and transcribed exactly as Sister wrote it. It was an assignment in school. I bawled the first time I read it, the second time, and yep...I think I will cry every time I read it. I miss this little girl so very much. Sister- I love you so much and your mama is so proud of you!

Hello, from Albuquerque, NM.

This is a beautiful poem. And this is who we are so many of our impressionable life moments and experiences.

I invite you to share your story, struggles, or testimony at www.PowerUpLove.com

This is just so sweet. Sister is such a sweet girl. It made me tear up when I read it....twice. She describes her life in this little poem. Every detail is exactly how it is. I just love it.

It makes me cry, too! She's a happy girl secure in the love of her mom even though mom is far away. -- Grandma Sprout
